It is large enough for a formal dining room and small enough for a nook area. Looks best when hung 30" above a standard countertop with a height of 3ft (36"). Fixture includes (5) 12" stem-rods for a total of 88" in length. Glass diffuses light evenly when using frosted/white incandescent bulbs (not included) and creates a nice ambiance when dimmed. Will support A19 sized Compact Fluorescent medium base bulbs (CFL), however note that bulbs will be visible
